A conference call, or an Audio-Teleconference Call, is a simple telephone call wherein there is more than one party who may be at the receiving end of the call. At times a conference call prohibits the listeners from speaking but more often they may be allowed to participate in the call. Conference calls are a common tool used in business. This is because it cuts any costs necessary to have out-of-office meetings with associates or employees in remote areas. More importantly, conference calls are used by public corporations to announce their quarterly reports to stock analysts.
